Fair and simple

Refund policy

Life with kids is busy, and plans change. Here's how cancellations and refunds work, in plain English. If something isn't right, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to sort it out.

The short version

  • Can't make it? Let us know more than 24 hours before and you'll get a credit for another session. Credits aren't paid out as cash.
  • If Story and Scribe cancels a class, you'll get a full refund for it.

Writing courses and holiday intensives

  • More than 24 hours' notice: a credit for another session.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice, or a missed class: no credit, but if you miss a live lesson you can swap it for the recording or a make-up lesson where available.

Live webinars ($45)

  • More than 24 hours before the session: a credit for another session, or a free switch to the recording.
  • Within 24 hours of the session: no credit, but you'll still get the recording.

Webinar recording ($35)

The recording is digital and available straight away, so there are no change-of-mind refunds once it's been accessed. If it doesn't work and we can't fix it, you'll get a refund.

Struggling readers sessions

  • At least 24 hours' notice: reschedule for free.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice, or a no-show: the 50% deposit paid to book is forfeited.

If we have to cancel

If Story and Scribe ever cancels a class, session or webinar, you'll get a full refund for it. If you'd rather keep your place, you can choose a free reschedule instead.

How to cancel or ask for a refund

Send a message through the Enquire page or on Instagram @storyandscribe.au. We'll confirm your credit, or, where a refund applies, send it back the way you paid, usually within 5–10 business days.

Your rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service isn't provided with due care and skill, or isn't delivered as described, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of the terms above.
